Northern Investing
for Health Partnership
As from 1 April 2009 all Northern Investing for Health Partnership responsibilities have been transferred to the Public Health Agency
The Investing for Health Strategy sets
out the Northern Ireland Executive's plans to improve the health
of all our people and reduce health inequalities.
In line with Government policy, the Northern Health and Social
Services Board (NHSSB) has set up the Northern Investing for Health
Partnership (NIfHP), a local multi-agency partnership, spanning
the ten local councils that comprise the board area.
The role of the Northern Investing for
Health Partnership is to take forward, at a local level, the
implementation of the Investing for Health Strategy, issued by
Government in March 2002.
The Health Improvement Plan (HIP) is
the primary vehicle for taking forward locally the Northern Ireland
wide Investing for Health Strategy.
One of the key actions identified by partners when establishing
the Northern Investing for Health Partnership was the need to
develop baseline information. Locality
Profiles have been developed to provide an indication of the
broad health and wellbeing status of people living in the catchment
area.
