The Health Action Zone Community Conference will showcase the Northern HAZ model of community engagement to tackle health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of local residents. 

Speakers from the NNHAZ communities and partner organisations will provide an insight into the challenges and benefits of working in partnership with the statutory, voluntary and community sector to effect positive change in their neighbourhoods and build healthier communities. The conference will also focus on the health impacts and outcomes in the Health Action Zone neighbourhoods. 

Delegates can expect to gain: 

• A greater understanding of the Northern Neighbourhoods Health Action Zone model and the work being taken forward within the 14 participating communities
• An increased understanding of the challenges and health related issues facing local communities
• A greater insight into the role local communities can play in the development of health and social care services
• New contacts through networking opportunities with the NNHAZ communities and other delegates 

The conference programme will also include a networking opportunity where delegates will be invited to view the community displays and speak directly to the NNHAZ communities about their work in improving the health and wellbeing of local residents across the NNHAZ neighbourhoods.
